Professional Dubbing Technique in Film
Dubbing is not simply re-reading lines to match a character’s lip movements. A professional voice actor has to recreate the original performer’s emotion, breathing, and vocal nuance, while still sounding natural to the ear.
The sound engineer plays a key role here too, fine-tuning timing and processing the voice (EQ, compression) so the dubbed line blends seamlessly with the background sound and effects, avoiding a sense that it was “pasted on” over the scene.
